Megs Garden
showcasing the delectable Summer's Dance and Summer's day collection .
perfect for my love of nature .
Featuring an Altered title using gesso and Tim Holtz crackle paint .

'BLOOMS'

photo sourced from Tumblr
These new papers are such a delight to work with and I decided to compliment them with some roses and blooms and a photo to match .
I have used green cardstock to tone in with the Summer papers and inked random sections with a mask and stamping and gesso .

The leaves are diecut with Cottage Cutz /leafy foliage  :
using a combination of The Summers Dance and A Summers day papers .

The heavenly  velvet flowers and the magnificent paper roses are just the perfect match
 for these summery papers.
I have added some 2Crafty chipboard leaves and blossom branches blended among
this precious velvet and paper flowers cluster .

The title BLOOMS has been altered.
PROCESS
Firstly  glue chipboard title to the page.
Brush with gesso .
When dry add some Versa color ink.. sage and rose .
Next step add some Tim Holtz crackle paint and allow to dry.
Very simple process creating a dramatic effect and lots of fun.

Stamp with a background stamp for dimension and interest .
( I used the chicken wire Kaisercraft acrylic stamp)

GUEST DESIGNING FOR SCRAP AFRICA

Firstly I am so honoured and delighted to be guest designing  here at Scrap Africa.
Thank you so much Denise for inviting me .

Here is what Denise had to say ..
For this challenge, we have an exceptional creator and I am sure that many of you will know her and also recognise her signature style.
Our VERY special guest designer this month, is the super Heather Jacob.
This is perfectly, perfect in every way!!!! Super stunning and so amazing...and all cardstock!
I so love Heather's style and am totally in awe of her amazing talent! ;-)

such wonderful words about me Denise ... thanks so much you warm my heart xo
NOW TO THE CHALLENGE :
Use only plain card stock, NO patterned papers. But you are asked to use at least 3 colours of card stock or more if you want to...and these you can alter by stamping or embossing, whatever way you want to.

DENISE says : Now Heather has 2 layouts to share with us.
One that she did when she started scrapping 2004 and one from the present.
Firstly, let's have a look at the "old" one.

' ICE-CREAM '

This layout above was created in 2004, when I using cardstock only on all my pages .
My style has certainly evolved over the years !!!!
And there is also amazing diecuts and masks available for scrappers today,
creating a scrapbook heaven .
I think I am very brave showing you all this 'OLDIE ' layout .

'JOURNAL'
 MY PROCESS
I used a background of white cardstock , trimming one inch from one side.
Lay this over two layers of of cardstock / purple card and grey card.
Trimming each piece to allow some to show both  sides.
Distress each layer and machine stitch together .
Cut strips of taupe, purple, celaton, turquoise green , grey, black and border punch two strips.
Layer these and add diecut leaves, “cottage Cutz/foliage”, flowers, add some bling brads, clock, circle sticker/string , chipboard inked in, Versa color ink / atlantic blue .
Use a mask on white background, Versa color / Celaton, and Atlantic.
Randomly Stamp with Versa color /black .
Add title and doodling .
My 9  colors are all from Kaisercraft cardstock
Pale grey, dark grey, black, white, purple, turquoise, taupe, smokey grey, celaton.
Enjoy creating with cardstock.

how about popping over to

to be inspired by all the magical art from the design team
this challenge is fun.

IN THE PINK

Hi everyone,
MY TURN OVER AT GREEN TARA

and I'm feeling in a PINK mood today.

' ME '

I clustered the roses, rose buds and velvet leaves around the altered
metal plate , adding a tiny piece of muslin for interest.
I created a pocket containing tags with hidden journaling about me,
and added some of my fave affirmations I use everyday.
I love to dry brush the chipboard with gesso using a small brush.
Dry brushing Process:
Add a tiny amount of gesso on a dry brush and swipe across the chipboard in a swift motion.

and again here in Adelaide ...next week Wednesday 6th March .
cant wait .

EVIDENCE

TESTIMONY
From the age of 5 I knew I wanted to be a hairdresser .
I affirmed each day for years, visualising myself owning my own salon.
Visualisation is a very powerful tool .
At age 22 our wish came true .. we opened our first salon.
This was to be the first of seven salons. we chose the name "SALON GEMINI "
this next  section is written on the back of my layout
My twin sister "Laine" and I , had a long and successful career
with many adventures along our journey.
Meeting a huge number and varied array of people.
I wouldn't change any of it .
I truly feel blessed to have chosen something I love and
going to work every day was a pleasure and a joy .
Wonderful memories indeed .

why not pop over to
and be inspired to have a go at solving this case
have a great weekend and enjoy the journey
