YOU SHOW ME YOURS - HUGH JACKMAN

this month Lucy sent us a glorious photo of Hugh Jackman
I chose to go DARK and GRUNGY

Lucy says :
Now, as well as sending the pic to participating peeps, I also said that
in choosing the pic for this month, I reigned in my naughty side.
After all, I could have chosen a pic of Hugh without a shirt on.
Regrets?
Nah, I decided to go classy instead, and am happy with that.
I am.
Really, I am!
ps. if you would like to join in, just let me know
so I can add your link to the participants list.

Another case ready to solve

case file 81 is now open
pop over to CSI and be inspired

'SUMMER LOVE '

lots of texture and metal elements on this layout .
EVIDENCE
twiggy branches, silver metal, jute/twine, scalloped edges, circles, rounded corners.
TESTIMONY
6 awesome things about summer holidays .
1. Family time
2. Laughter
3.Swimming
4.Fishing
5.Wild ocean
6.Rugged coast
journaling on the back of my layout reads : Summer memories,
My Father-in-law built a magnificent beach house right up
high on a cliff with glorious views overlooking Nora Criena Bay.
( a little seaside bay near Robe, in the south east of South Australia)
We had many fun family times
exploring, swimming, and catching fish . I loved to gaze at the rugged coast and wild ocean, becoming mesmerised by the constant movement of the ocean .
I would meditate as I lay on the hammock , listening to the sounds of nature as the warm golden
light invigorated my body with boundless energy.
such a magnificent unspoiled part of this land we call Australia .
hmmmm wonderful memories.

thanks for popping by and I do hope you will have a play at solving this case .
big hugz to each of you

Creating CLUSTERS with Chippies and Blooms

Today it is my turn over at

Combining chipboard leaves and foliage with blooms
are perfect for creating Delish clusters
to compliment a layout

'DELIGHT'

I combined 3 different chipboard designs with various blooms.
the fencing wire is inked with slate ink /kaisercraft,
the Angies-vine is trimmed into smaller sections and scattered amongst the roses .
I used the top section of the ferns because I only required smaller leaves .
The ferns are inked with slate and then white ink is dabbed randomly
on the edges .
The sections of the Angie Vine are firstly inked with White /Versa color ink.
I added small dabs of slate to some of the pieces to create variation.

BLOOMS : Prima and Green Tara blooms
PAPERS : 7Dots Studio , Prima,  Dark Grey cardstock.

'BEAUTY '
the stunning photo of Miss T taken by
 Tara of Simply Photographic .

I just adore these heidis-vines. To me they look like cherries on a branch
I applied white gesso first and then dabbed some slate ink/kaisercraft on the edges,
finally I stamped over the leaves with a text stamp
and dabbed some Rose /Versa Color ink on the cherries.

one of my very faves are these summer-leaf-stems
I used the same process as above.
paint with white gesso, dab slate on the edges
and for the final touch, stamp with a text stamp to add dimension .

for my final share I created this tag
I often include a TAG with a Birthday / celebration gift

I used the chipboard/frame-lucys-flourish , inked with Ash Beige /Versa color ink
I added a cluster of blooms, altered filigree, and a pearl vintage brad .
finished off with a strip of washi tape /Tim Holtz , and a background stamp .

papers : Maja designs
blooms : kaisercraft and Prima

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS

I began creating this book quite awhile ago - 2007
Older papers, older style, no paint, no chippies or dies .

'My Mini Book'

It is based on a wonderful book
"The 4 Agreements" written by Don Miguel Ruiz

When Baden was diagnosed with prostrate Cancer
I decided to complete it .
These 4 Agreements are a fabulous way to live life .

The 4 Agreements is a Wisdom book
A Practical Guide to personal freedom

Baden is feeling in high spirits and has been to see a Naturopath
and is trying some alternative treatments while he waits for his next 3 tests
at the end of July
thanks so much for all your love and prayers
we can feel the love coming our way
and we are both breathing the energy into our heart and soul.
big big hugz to each of you x

A DIFFERENT STYLE

This month over at
The challenge is to create a layout in a different style than you usually create.
for example if you are a textured/layered scrapper try clean and simple .

my style is usually very layered / textured, with attention to detail
I chose to go simple -
I used 2 photos
Not much distressing , lots of white space, no white gesso , tiny amount of layering, and no chipboard.
I had to add my signature stitching though .. LOL !
I scraplifted snippetts of creative ideas from Gina, Kim and Sanna .

'DREAM '

I cut simple strips, and used some washi tape .
this is very simple for me .
I had lots of fun once I got into it .
I found it difficult not to use chipboard and diecuts ...
I rather like the simplicity for a change though , I may even do some more in this style .
who knows ????

thanks Mel for the challenge
I do hope I have inspired you all to have a play and join in the fun over at Kraft It Up
I really would love to see what you come up with .
big hugz from me xoxox

Bumps on the Road ... we can do this together !

I wanted to write this post to let you all know where my life is right now .
Some of you know That Baden was diagnosed with prostrate Cancer last week
it is in the very early stages, which we are very grateful for .
He is in good spirits and feeling positive all will be well and he will regain his health in time.
Baden is trying some alternative things while he waits for more tests next month .
our family is small but we are very close and Tara has been such a strength for both of us .
Together we can beat this as we walk hand in hand along  the journey of life .

I will still be on the design teams and posting on my blog
but maybe not as often at the moment .

I am asking you to please stay with me and visit my blog as I walk along this journey .

I found this gorgeous quote which I thought you would all enjoy and agree with x

You have all been so amazing and loving to us with your prayers and love .
thankyou so much
we are overwhelmed with your response and are so very grateful to have so many people care.
I think of you all, and hope you all understand I cannot write thanks to all of you
but you are all in my heart .. a very busy place at the moment
full of the love you are pouring over us x
big hugz to each of you
