April Mood Board - rich and velvety

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog
Today I am sharing my take on the
beautiful rich and velvety

April Mood Board

this month I decided to create a Card
rich in texture, layering and dimension.

APRIL MOOD BOARD

THIS MONTH
I chose to use the blues complemented by the richness of the
deep maroon / brown hues.

because I felt these colors were very rich and velvety I used
VELVET FLOWERS.

I created with lots of the paints this month
if you have not already used these paints I suggest you give them a go
they are perfect to use.
so many colors to mix and match .

The Dusty Attic products used .
Dusty in color
Denim DA 0914
Alabaster DA 0902
Raisin DA 0909
Hot Chocolate DA 0923
Crackle Paint DA 0900

Mini Branches #2 DA 1121
Mini Heart Buttons  DA0682
Heart Arrows #2 : DA1026

Some of the mini branches are painted in Denim DA 0914

The others are in the maroon/brown hues.
my process.
To achieve the color on the mini branches
I began with white (Alabaster DA 0902 )
then mixed the Raisin DA 0909 with
Hot Chocolate DA 0923.. applied this to the chipboard
and finished off with a coat of
Crackle Paint DA 0900

I love the texture on this card .
At first glance of the April mood board
I found these colors confronting...
but once I decided to mix some of the paints together
I was really happy with the result ..

Dusty paints are just the best ..
stunning colors and quick drying .

Remember
you may purchase the chipboard direct
from the Dusty Attic website .

thanks so much for popping by
and I do hope you are inspired to play with the April Mood board .
take care and happy scrapping

MEGS GARDEN - Sherlock by Watson

Hello everyone hope you are well
a very warm welcome to my blog
today I am sharing
MY ART JOURNAL
using the fabulous Sherlock papers by Kerry-Jean Watson
I do love creating arty journals
and these papers are perfect .
Meg sells this in kit form
available from Megs Garden website .
be prepared for a long post as there are quite a few pics
The journal contains 14 pages
here goes
MY ART JOURNAL
created with the Sherlock collection.
I love the vintage feel to these papers.

My cover has been altered with inks stain and crackle paint
It has turned out more deeper than I expected but that happens sometimes
the inside pages are created with black bazzill
the papers dont need a lot of embellishments as they
have design markings, perfect for art journals.
I added some washi tape, stitching, inking and stamping.
with some metal embellies from the kit .

 some journaling on
pages 1 and 2

pages 3 and 4
I adore fossicking around in op shops discovering vintage treasures

 pages 5 and 6
old post cards are so precious and old vintage wares
found in a bric a brac shop .

 Pages 7 and 8
how beautiful are these vintage  post cards of
little girls and their dolls
very very cute indeed .

 pages 9 and 10
old rusty treasures found in the Adelaide Hills .

 pages 11 and 12
creating some journaling of my thoughts and faves
pages 13 and 14
 Final pages featuring me,
at my faithful Bernina sewing machine
Sadly my machine has not seen any fabric for a few years now !!!
I hope you are inspired to look at this kit and create your own journal
for generations to come
history is lost unless we create art journals and pages
to share with our family and friends
thanks for popping by and until we meet again
happy scrapping
and stay safe and happy x

Over the fence

Today I am sharing a little more about me .
I like to take a walk each morning
and I always carry my camera with me
snapping some gorgeous photos as I walk.
I love to gaze at the blooms as I walk/ exercise
I breathe in the beauty of nature
and also see inspiring ideas and rich colors
and exquisite gardens .
Daisies are my fave bloom, so simple , bright and happy .
some of the photos I take are not always perfectly clear
but I feel that adds to the natural beauty .

Smiling Daisies
listening quietly I can almost hear them giggling !

Agapanthas always give a burst of color, even the white ones .
look at these sweeties.... seaside daisies peeping from below the fence .
facing the sun .... happiness in nature .
and just before I complete my walk
I pop into
the little cafe near our home
and relax and enjoy a coffee .
ahhh the simple things are so beautiful .
My astrology sign is Taurus
AN EARTH SIGN
I am always fascinated by Nature
and the richness and formation of blooms and colors.
Autumn and Spring are my fave seasons .

thanks for dropping by and leaving me some love
Have a wonderful day
with love to you x

MARCH MOOD BOARD - Dusty Attic

Hello my fellow scrappers
hope you are all well .
Today I'm sharing my interpretation of the

 MARCH MOOD BOARD

I chose to use 3 colors from this board .
The lime green and the soft pink and lilac .
my BG is on white cardstock

I covered my cardstock with a light coat of white gesso .
then proceeded to add the colors using a brayer .
it became very messy and some of the paper was so wet it began to peel !!
BUT
this added to the final textured look of the BG
another fabulous new technique for me
I added some texture paste with a stencil and then
applied more color .

I was inspired by the words relaxed, refresh and enjoy .

BLISS
Baden and I often have romantic weekends away
we find the most beautiful B and B's .
I love this white on white look .
so restful and pure bliss, in my opinion .
